Your Questions About Bay Area Marketing Jobs

William asks…

How bad is the economy and job market in the Bay Area?

admin answers:

It depends what your skills are. If you are unskilled or do something like construction forget it. If you have very good high tech skills and are willing to work in a place that has an extremely high cost of living you might be able to get some work. The only company I know that is hiring is Comcast and most of their positions are customer service. It is hard to get by in the bay area on customer service wages.

How hard is it to find an RN job in the bay area for a new RN.?

Im about to graduate from Nursing school in about 10 months. I getting worried about finding a job because i see less and less jobs available and heard some nurses are getting laid off. Do you think by next year the job market would be different. Are any new RN grads having difficulty finding a job?

R.N.’s are the most wanted nurses in all hospitals, clinics, you name it!

No, it will not be hard, if worse come to worse, you can always contract with a nursing registry! =]] Good luck!

Maria asks…

Any advice for starting a job search for the Bay area in California?

I am looking for Marketing oriented jobs that require a degree (in early 20s)

admin answers:

So, you don’t probably have much experience. You could start with marketing researcher position, if that’s up your alley (something can be found at http://www.researcherjobs.org/ ).

Jenny asks…

Jobs in Tampa bay area?

I live in Seminole, Fl. I just graduated with a Television Production degree and have been doing Freelance positions for the last two months. I’m ready to get a full time job even if it means one that has nothing to do with television. Tampa bay is the 12th largest market in television terms and is very difficult to find a position. So I need something in the mean time. I’m 22 yrs old and have done everything from fast food to retail. IF anyone knows of anything in the tampa bay area whether its television related or not, Please let me know.

admin answers:

King engineering is always hiring, or at least they were. Lots of jobs available if you can do math. They are by the airport where 60 intersects Veterens Expressway. Good luck!

questions about the job market in the bay area?

i live in austin tx. my husband just got laid off from his job (elevator mechanic apprentice). our apartment lease is up in may and we really want to move to the bay area to be by our family (we are both originally from cali). how is the job market for SF? still suffering or is it getting better? would you say its hard to find work there even though it’s a big city? what about the surrounding cities? I am a nanny, how about for me? is it hard to find nanny work right now? how much do nannies typically make there?

admin answers:

The job market is still very bad in SF, you’d probably find more opportunity staying right where you are.

To get an idea of how bad it really is check out the job adds on craigs list. What used to be literally 100’s of ads in each job category each day is down to less than 20 per day.
