Your Questions About San Francisco Seoul

Sandra asks…

Customs time and pet inspection at San Francisco Airport?

I booked a flight from Seoul, Korea to Portland, Oregon with a transfer at San Fransisco, but I totally forgot about customs at SFO. Basically I have to land, go through customs, pick up my cat, have him inspected, put him back with the luggage, make it through security, and get to my gate all in an hour and a half. Granted the flight is on a random Thursday at 11:30am. The next connecting flight I can book is 7 hours later, but I don’t want to leave me cat somewhere in the airport for that long. Do you think there is ANY way that I can make it through this process and catch my flight?

admin answers:

You dont have to go through customs UNTIL you reach your final destination.

Ruth asks…

Can any help me with this math problem?

The math problem is If the golden gate bridge is 1.71 miles long and cost 1.2 billion then how much would a bridge cost if a bridge was from san francisco to Seoul Korea which is 5613 miles away.

I know its hard but I would appreciate it alot if you helped me thanks!

admin answers:

1.2 billion for every 1.71 miles, then you need to find the number of sets of 1.71 miles in 5613
5613/1.71=3282.456
since it is 1.2 billion for each of those 3282.456 sets of 1.71 miles, multiply
3282.456 times 1.2 billion=3938.947 billion
that is your answer

Laura asks…

where is the cheapest place to fly out of the US to Seoul, Korea?

Looking for the cheapest way to fly to Korea from Boston. But I am willing to stop at San Francisco to get a good deal. Is there another city that has a better deal? And does anyone know if you can get an open ended round trip ticket? How much does that cost?

admin answers:

You need to check the different airlines.
You will find sales from different cities.
If you fly to another city, like San Francisco you are not going to save much after you pay for the flight there from Boston.
Atlanta, Dallas, L.A. San Francisco, and a couple of other places have non stop flights several times each week.
The time of year also affects prices.
I know on Korean Air you can get an open ended ticket for no extra charge, as long as you use the ticket within 6 months.

John asks…

your worst airplane experience?

Mine=When that little girl behind me felt the constant need to roll up the window cover and yell unintelligibly all the time on our 11 hour San FranciscoSeoul flight. With the parent kindly doing nothing to stop her.
jeez, my worst flight kinda pales compared to others’.

admin answers:

My plane had an emergency water landing in New York’s Hudson River

Helen asks…

Yamaha Silent Guitar as a carry-on baggage?

I will move from Seoul to San Francisco next month by JAL (Japanese Airline).

I’d like to carry on my Yamaha Silent Guitar on board, but the dimension of gig bag is slightly over the linear length 45 inch.

I heard that it was originally designed as a traveler guitar, but I’m worried if my guitar is rejected at the gate.

If you have the silent guitar and experienced airplane travel with it, please give me an advice.

Thank you in advance. 🙂

admin answers:

I do not have the item you mentioned, but if it does not meet the total linear length (which is length PLUS height PLUS width) of 45 inches (which would seem awfully small), you will most likely have to check it.

What you can probably, and should do, is gate check it. Two reasons, one it will receive better handling, and two, if the plane is not full they might be able to find a spot to squeeze it on..
